Movie buffs in Chennai were excited to attend the pre-release event of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan which happened in a college a few days ago. There were speculations of Vijay attending the event, and many fans of the Leo star thronged the event.

However, the affair had only the cast and crew of the Bollywood movie participating in it. Anirudh's music, his dance with SRK, the speech delivered by Atlee, Vijay Sethupathi's funny speech and SRK's charisma were a few highlights of the evening. A video that had Kamal Haasan wishing SRK was screened at the venue, leaving the crowd thrilled.

Vijay fans are irked at this leading TV channel for the event's choppy editing

Though Vijay wasn't present there, his fans had several reasons to cheer. A few of the guests mentioned Leo, the star's forthcoming movie. Moreover, the likes of SRK and Atlee spoke about the actor, leaving his fans overwhelmed. The event was telecast this afternoon on Sun TV.

However, fans who were watching the event on television had the shock of their lives as the mention of Vijay and Leo was edited out of the program. This made them upset and many took to Twitter to express their angst.

Jawan is set to open big in Tamil Nadu

Meanwhile, the Bollywood action drama is poised to take a huge opening in Tamil Nadu. The film is expected to surpass the existing day-one records registered by any Hindi film. The presence of a few Tamil cast and crew members in the project is one of the reasons for the same.

The pre-release event of the film, too, has escalated the expectations. Jawan will be released in Tamil and Telugu on September 7 in the state.
