The ‘Family Star’ was the chief guest at Keedaa Cola’s pre-release event

Keedaa Cola, the crime comedy, starring Rag Mayur, Chaitanya Rao, Brahmanandam and others, directed by Tharun Bhascker is set to release globally this Friday. Ahead of the release, the film’s pre-release event was held in Hyderabad, where Vijay Deverakonda was the chief guest. The star confirmed that he’ll be reuniting with the Pelli Choopulu filmmaker for a new project.
As part of his speech at the event, Vijay shared, “I keep asking him to come to me with a script and tell him I’ll do it blindly. I want to take this opportunity to announce that we’ve finally locked a new film and we’ll be collaborating again soon.” As Pelli Choopulu completed 7 years in 2023, the star went down memory lane and wished the team of Keedaa Cola for the release.
“Keedaa Cola releases on November 3, watch it with your friends and families. Tharun Bhascker introduced me as a hero, I worked with many members from this team for Pelli Choopulu. Three key aspects decide your career trajectory - your upbringing, the decisions you make and the people you meet. I’m what I’m today because of Nag Ashwin, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Tharun Bhascker,” he said.

Vijay shared he didn’t know any of these directors since childhood and neither are they related. “We met only in our mid-20s, came from the same backgrounds and had the same dreams. We relied on one another, we were each other’s support systems. Tharun cast me in Pelli Choopulu after watching me in Yevade Subrahmanyam. The success of the film opened many doors.”
However, even after a hit like Pelli Choopulu, Tharun didn’t view filmmaking as a business, worked with the people and on the stories he believed in, Vijay added. “He gave a platform for me in my first film, is continuing to do that with Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi and Keedaa Cola. He doesn’t plan to launch people, genuinely believes in himself.”
The star admitted that he hasn’t watched Keedaa Cola yet but is aware that audiences will have fun. “If you have liked his previous films, you’ll like this. I know this film will be a success but people like Nag Ashwin, Sandeep and Tharun are beyond hits or flops. Their skill is so solid.We may not have had a rupee in our wallets when we started but thought we could rule the world.”
While narrating the popular dialogue Airane Vanchala Enti from Family Star, he mentioned. “Family Star is about a boy in a simple middle class family, who’s happy, but in survival mode for a major part of his days. There will be one person in every family, who’ll go against rules and be a star for them. I, Tharun did that for our families.”
