Vijay Deverakonda is going through a bad phase as it has been a very long time since he scored a proper hit at the box office. His last film, Liger ended as a mega-disaster at the ticketing windows and left the director, Puri Jagan, in a massive financial mess. Sadly, Vijay's other film, Khushi, was also delayed as Samantha fell sick and the shoot was postponed for over six months. Finally, the film will be wrapped up in the next few days.
To make up for the lost time, Vijay has signed multiple films and one of them is with popular director Parasuram, who last directed Sarkaru Vaari Pata with Mahesh Babu and gave Vijay Deverakonda the biggest hit of his career with Geetha Govindam. Rashmika Mandanna was the female lead in this film.
On the other hand, we at OTTplay had already reported that Vijay is in plans to wrap up the shooting of the film by the end of this year and release the film as a Sankranthi special in 2024. Now, the latest update is that a large portion of the film will be shot in the US in the US. Dil Raju is producing this film on a massive scale and he along with his team is in the US finalizing the location for the shoot.
We have also come to know that the first half of the film will be set in the US and the story moves to India in the second half. The film is an urban romance and the happening heroine, Mrunal Thakur will be playing the female lead in this film. She has been paid big bucks to do this film.
On the other hand, Vijay Deverakonda is also busy with the story sittings of his other film which will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The film is a cop drama and Vijay will be seen as a police officer for the first time in his career.
As it is a period drama, there is a lot of pre-production that will go into this film and that is the reason, Vijay has given bulk dates. As per the news, Vijay will start shooting for this next year and will release in the mid of 2024. For now, he is shooting for Khushi and will soon start the shooting of the Parasuram film.
