The Tamil-Telugu bilingual will be released this Friday in theatres

Pichaikkaran 2 - which has Vijay Antony donning multiple hats - that of a director, editor and music composer is releasing in theatres on May 19 in Tamil and Telugu. His wife Fatima Vijay Antony has bankrolled the movie which is riding on good expectations. Kavya Thapar is essaying the female lead in it.
Dev Gill plays the antagonist while Radha Ravi, Yogi Babu, Hareesh Peradi and John Vijay among others will be seen donning key roles. The makers have unveiled its trailer, sneak peek videos and a couple of video songs recently.
The film's pre-release event was held in Chennai yesterday. Legendary filmmaker Bharathiraja was one of the guests at the affair. Vijay attended the press meet event in Hyderabad today and answered a few questions posed by the media. He surprised one and all when he was asked about the Telugu actor who he thought would pull off his role in Pichaikkaran 2.
Vijay had no second thoughts when he picked Mahesh Babu's name amid crowd cheering for his answer. He also added that among Tamil actors, Ajith or Vijay would have played the role with ease.
Pichaikkaran 2 is releasing under the title Bichagadu 2 in Telugu. Bichagadu, when released in 2016, went on to become a huge money spinner at Tollywood box office. Vijay said that he chose the title Bichagadu 2 for the movie despite this not being a proper sequel because he wanted to cash in on the popularity of Bichagadu.
His last bilingual project was Kodiyil Oruvan which was released in 2021. It hit screens in Telugu under the title Vijaya Raghavan.
