Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan is winning the respect of the fans of Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar. Reason: his reaction to Ajith's latest picture. The filmmaker shared Ajith's picture, which has gone viral, on his Instagram page with a smiley face with heart-shaped eyes. In normal circumstances, it would have hardly made anybody gasp in surprise. But, in light of the latest developments, many have appreciated Vignesh's simplicity and his unchanged admiration for Ajith.

For the uninitiated, Vignesh was first announced as the director of Ajith's next film. The project tentatively called AK62 created quite a hype among the fans. However, for some reason, it failed to take off.

Vignesh was fired from AK62 for reasons only known to the producers. The buzz is that Lyca Productions was not happy with Vignesh's script for Ajith's movie. And the producers have since been looking for a new director to take up the project.

While Vignesh last year shared his excitement about working with Ajith, he has remained silent about being removed from the project. It is said that filmmaker Magizh Thirumeni of Thadam fame has been tasked with directing Ajith's next movie. And the official announcement is awaited.

Despite the alleged unpleasant developments, Vignesh has shown that he harbours no ill feelings towards Ajith. And it has earned the filmmakers a lot of goodwill among Ajith's fans.

Ajith is now on a vacation with his family in Europe. Recently, the pictures of Ajith meeting fans in Glasgow surfaced online. After returning to India, he will soon start shooting for AK62. The producers are expected to make the formal announcement of the project soon.

Ajith was last seen in Thunivu. The film was released during the Pongal festival and has emerged as one of the highest-grossers in Ajith's career, despite getting mixed reviews. The film is now streaming on Netflix.
