Vignesh Shivan thanks Kamal Haasan for lending voicecover to Chess Olympiad inaugural show

Director Vignesh Shivan recently put up a show during the inaugural of the 44th International Chess Olympiad in Chennai and it has come in for a lot of praise. The show highlighted the rich heritage of the Tamil culture and its people. The show had voiceover by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and the entire performance went on to turn many heads. 

The director has now thanked Kamal Haasan for spending hours to prepare for the show. He added that he was enlightened by Kamal's knowledge and his presence made a lot of difference to the whole act. Sharing a video of the both of them prepping for the show, Vignesh Shivan wrote, “The few hours I got to spend with the #UlagaNayagan @ikamalhaasan I was engulfed in his Aura ! His knowledge, the explanations he had and the nuances he added .. this particular session with him was unforgettable for me ! 😇😇😇 #ChessOlympiad #greatmoments #unforgettable #experience. His voice made all the difference in this act ! Thank you 😊 Kamal sir 😇😇💐💐❤️❤️ (sic).” In the video, Kamal Haasan is seen explaining the significance of Eru Thazhuvuthal (embracing the bull).

The Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal director had earlier revealed that Superstar Rajinikanth, too, had appreciated him for the show and that he had made a phone call soon after the event. He wrote on his social media page,"An event to remember ❤️😇 thank U superstar @rajinikanth sir for the appreciation in person during the event & the phone call immediately after the event 😇☺️ Was the Happiest to hear ur voice & compliments abt the Olympiad event! U being there made the day even more beautiful 😍 (sic)."

Vignesh Shivan had also conceptualised and directed an anthem for the show, which had music by AR Rahman and had Tamil Chief Minister MK Stalin himself making an appearance. Actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, too was part of the making of the show. He had thanked them as well. "A pic to remember!
