Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal is all set to be seen on the big screen in his film IB71. Slated to release on May 12 at the theatres, the 42-year-old in the spy thriller essays the role of an Indian Air Force officer, who plans to block the airspace to prevent an attack on India by Pakistan and China. This film marks Jammwal's first film as a producer.

As the film release is around the corner, the makers of the film are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film in the best possible way.

Today, during a press conference, Jammwal was asked why Bollywood films are not performing well at the box office and whether this development has the probability to affect the business of IB71 as well.

He quickly responds: “While making movies, nobody knows what the people will end up liking. Firstly, as an actor, I should feel satisfied with the story of the film and understand it thoroughly. When I heard the script of IB71, I felt that this is an important story that needs to be told to the masses. This film is about the lives of 30 agents, whom nobody has talked about much.”

“Imagine being in a hijacked plane...nobody has talked about this story much. Even if people don't talk about it today, I'm sure my children and future generations will surely want to have an idea about it. I feel that a story like this needs to be spoken about. Everyone, including the government, acts supportive when someone genuinely appreciates the armed forces. Thus, I feel it is my duty to bring this story forward to the masses,” the Khuda Haafiz (2020) actor shares.

When asked about the details of the film, he chose not to divulge much information about the plotline and goes on to add, “In the film, we have highlighted the point of view of several Opposition forces and have carefully weaved out the story.”

The trailer of Sankalp Reddy's directorial was released on April 24 this year, which also featured actor Vishal Jethwa in a crucial role.
