Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai, which opened to positive response, started streaming on Zee5 last Friday. The film, starring Soori in the lead, garnered praise from several celebs like Rajinikanth and Dinesh Karthik. The movie which is based on Jeyamohan's novel Thunaivan stars Vijay Sethupathi and Bhavani Sre in crucial roles.
Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon and Chetan among others have essayed key characters in the project which has music by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by Velraj. The storytelling, visuals and performances are highlights of the film, the second part of which is expected to hit the screens after a few months.
The announcement of Viduthalai's OTT premiere on Zee5 left film buffs surprised as makers said that they will be releasing the director's cut on the platform. Movie lovers came up with different opinions on the extended version, though many were excited to watch the new cut.
Zee5 has now revealed that the movie has attained an impressive feat on the platform. It has achieved the "fastest 50 million streaming minutes" feat, proving that the director's cut has made several cinephiles log on to the digital platform. Vetri, Soori and Gautham requested everyone to watch the movie in separate videos that were unveiled by Zee5 recently.
The first part of the movie has ended on an interesting note and Vetri Maaran has ensured that viewers have ample reasons to look forward to the second part. Fans of the filmmaker are eagerly waiting to know if he would bag another National Award for his direction.
