Director Vetrimaaran’s crime thriller film Viduthalai Part 1 has received huge acclaim upon its release this year. Starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi, the movie follows a cop (Soori), who is caught between his duty and morality when his department undertakes a brutal campaign to capture a local activist (Vijay). The film received widespread acclaim for its characterisation and storyline, along with Vetrimaran’s style of storytelling. Ever since Viduthalai’s sequel was announced, fans have been eager to know more about the film. Speaking of the latest, the Vetrimaaran directorial is likely to use VFX for Vijay’s character.
Manju Warrier and Vijay Sethupathi to play a married couple in Viduthalai Part 2?
According to the latest reports, the Vetrimaran-directed sequel will be a crime thriller, set in the 1960s. The movie will feature Malayalam actress Manju Warrier as the female lead. Viduthalai Part 2 will be enhanced with advanced VFX technology, with the filmmaker using de-ageing technology for Vijay and Manju’s younger versions. They both are reportedly playing husband and wife in the upcoming film, which primarily focuses on Vijay’s character - Perumaal Vaathiyaar.
Viduthalai Part 2’s cast and crew
The movie boasts an ensemble cast with notable roles played by Soori, Prakash Raj, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Ilavarasu, among others. The film is backroled by Elred Kumar and Vetrimaaran, under RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company. Maestro Ilayaraja will be composing music for the film, while Velraj is handling the camera. The film is slated for release in the summer of 2024.
