Viduthalai Part 2, the long-awaited sequel to the acclaimed Vetrimaaran directorial Viduthalai, is gearing up for a December 2024 release. Ahead of the grand theatrical release, the makers of the film recently treated the cinephiles by dropped the much-awaited first single from the film, on social media. Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier, the lead pair of Viduthalai Part 2 make an appearance in the romantic melody Dhinam Dhinamum, which is written, composed and sung by legendary musician, Ilaiyaraaja.

The highly anticipated first single from Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai Part 2 is out on social media, and is now winning the hearts of Tamil music enthusiasts. Ilaiyaraaja, the legendary musician has not just composed the songs, but also turned a lyricist yet again, for the romantic melody featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier. The veteran music composer has also sung the soothing melody, along with Ananya Bhat.

The Dhinam Dhinamum song from Viduthalai Part 2, depicts the love story of the lead pair, played by Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier. The lyrical video narrates their journey from being a young couple in love, to life partners, and the parents of three children. The soothing melody subtly conveys the immense mutual love, respect, and companionship between the couple, as they face the life together. Manju Warrier and Vijay Sethupathi’s fresh onscreen chemistry is the biggest highlight of the song number.

Viduthalai Part 2: Here’s what we know

Viduthalai, co-written and directed by Vetrimaaran, revolves around a rookie cop who is torn between his uniform and people’s movement against oppression. Popular actor Soori made his debut in lead roles with Viduthalai (the movie is available for streaming on Zee5 and OTTplay Premium). The second part, on the other hand, revolves around the life of Makkal Padai leader Perumal, played by Vijay Sethupathi. Manju Warrier appears in the role of Perumal’s wife, in the film.

Soori, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Anurag Kashyap, Ken Karunas, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, and other essay the supporting roles in Viduthalai Part 2. Ilaiyaraaja composed the songs and the original score for the film. R Velraj is the director of photography. R Ramar handles the editing. The highly anticipated project, jointly bankrolled by Grass Root Film Company and RS Infotainment, is slated to be released in theatres on December 20, 2024.
