Viduthalai: Part 2, the second part of Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai, featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, and Manju Warrier in the lead roles, is gearing up for a theatrical release.

Viduthalai: Part 2, the period crime thriller film, is all set to hit the theatres on December 20, 2024. The movie, directed by Vetrimaaran, is a sequel to the 2023-released acclaimed film, Viduthalai: Part 1. Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, and Manju Warrier appear in the lead roles in the film, which is one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the years. As per the latest updates, Viduthalai: Part 2 has now completed the censor formalities and has bagged an ‘A’ certificate.
If the recent updates are to be believed, Viduthalai: Part 2 has completed its censor board formalities. According to the reports, Vetrimaaran’s long-awaited film has bagged an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board. The grapevine suggests that the Vijay Sethupathi starrer bagged an ‘A’ certificate, due to its sharp dialogues that have a strong political undertone. From the new updates, it is also safe to assume that the Vetrimaaran directorial might event have quite a lot of violent scenes, that are inappropriate for the younger audience.
The Viduthalai franchise, which is written and directed by Vetrimaaran, narrates the story of a police constable named Kumaresan, who is torn between his uniform and people’s movement against oppression. Soori, the popular actor, made his debut in lead roles with the movie, which is available for streaming on Zee5 and OTTplay Premium. The second part, however, revolves around the life of Makkal Padai leader Perumal, played by Vijay Sethupathi. Manju Warrier appears in the role of Perumal’s wife, in the film.
Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Anurag Kashyap, Ken Karunas, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, and other essay the supporting roles in Viduthalai Part 2. Ilaiyaraaja composed the songs and the original score for the film. R Velraj is the director of photography. R Ramar handles the editing. The highly anticipated project, is jointly bankrolled by Grass Root Film Company and RS Infotainment.
