The Telugu version of Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai Part 1 hit screens recently on April 15 and has been garnering good response. The dubbed version was released by producer Allu Aravind's Geetha Arts. Director Vetri Maaran recently shared how the Telugu version of the film happened.

"When the original version was released here, Allu Aravind flew down, watched the film along with the audience. He then  called me at 2am in the morning and said that he liked the film and that he would like to release it in Telugu. I really thank him for the kind of support he has given me and the trust he had on me and my hard work."

Vetri Maaran added that conceiving the idea of Viduthalai was easy. What's difficult is for someone to invest in it." When setting up a film like Vudthalai, the easiest thing is to come up with an idea like this. But the challenge comes for a person to come and invest in the idea. I thank my producer for all the support given through the process of the film and the trust in the conviction that I had."

He also thanked the media and the people for supporting his work. "The press too, had talked and written about the film, ignoring its flaws. The biggest support for the Telugu version has come from audiences, who have come and watched it. They also accepted the film for what it stands. On behalf of the whole cast and crew of Viduthalai, I thank the Telugu people for appreciating the hard work."

Viduthalai Part 1 marked the debut of Soori as lead actor, along with Vijay Sethupathi, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Chethan as part of the star cast. While the music for the film was by Ilaiyaraaja, cinematography was by Velraj. The film is produced by RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company.
