One Tamil movie which won unanimous positive reviews from critics and film buffs this year was Viduthalai which was helmed by Vetri Maaran. The project, which stars Soori in the lead, is gearing up for its OTT premiere. It will be dropping on Zee5 tomorrow. 

The hard-hitting drama based on the novel Thunaivan penned by Jeyamohan received applause for strong characters and memorable performances from Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Chetan and Bhavani Sre. Velraj's visuals and Ilaiyaraaja's music also were appreciated. The second part of the film is expected to hit the screens later this year.

Zee5 has now announced that they will be releasing the director's cut on the platform and that it will obviously be an extended version. Earlier, there were reports of the movie's complete version releasing during its digital premiere. Needless to say, fans of Vetri Maaran, Sethupathi and Soori are elated with this unexpected update from Zee5.          

They have now started guessing on the sequences that were chopped off from the theatrical version. The news of Zee5 acquiring its digital rights was out earlier. The film was released in Telugu under the title Vidudhala on April 15.

It revolves around an earnest cop who joins as a driver in the department. Upon the clues he provides, a few cops set out to nab a dreaded Naxalite who enjoys a huge fan base in a village. Torn between winning the love of his girlfriend and staying true to his duty, the naïve cop decides to sacrifice his life in nabbing the most wanted criminal alive.

The movie marked the first outing for Soori in a lead role. He has been receiving appreciation from several quarters. Cinephiles are now looking forward to its sequel.
