Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra officially confirmed the sequels to 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai. He is also making a film for kids and a horror comedy.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is one of the most celebrated filmmakers in the industry. He has directed several popular films, one of which is Vikrant Massey's starrer 12th Fail. Now, the filmmaker has confirmed that the sequels to 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3 are in the works. He also shared that he is making a film for kids and a horror comedy.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra on 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai sequels
In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra revealed updates on 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai sequels.
He said, “I am writing 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3. On top of that, I am trying to make a film for kids. The film’s title hasn’t been decided yet. I am also writing a horror comedy, and it is very interesting. First, we will write for 1-2 years, and then it should be made. I think the possibility of 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3 is there soon.”
He also emphasized the importance of taking time to craft strong scripts. The filmmaker added that he could have made 2-3 sequels of Munna Bhai and 3 Idiots and would have earned a lot of money. "But if those weren’t good films, I wouldn’t have enjoyed talking about them because I would know that I compromised my conscience just to mint money,” he explained.

Both 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai are directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The films earned a lot of praise and have changed the dynamics of Indian cinema. The Munna Bhai series, beginning with Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003) and followed by Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), features Sanjay Dutt as gangster Munna Bhai and Arshad Warsi as his loyal sidekick, Circuit.
On the other hand, 3 Idiots (2009) starring Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi, explores the pressures of the education system, delivering both laughs and a powerful message.
Meanwhile, Vidhu Vinod Chopra recently had a release, Zero Se Restart, the prequel to 12th Fail.
