Vidaamuyarchi teaser: Ajith Kumar, the actor to make a comeback; Magizh Thirumeni’s film to get a Pongal 2025 release

Vidaamuyarchi, the long-delayed Ajith Kumar starrer directed by Magizh Thirumeni, is one of the most anticipated upcoming projects in Tamil cinema. The movie, touted to be a stylish action drama, is nearing the final stages of its production. After a long wait, the makers dropped the Vidaamuyarchi teaser at 11.08 PM, on Thursday, November 28, 2024. The highly promising teaser also confirmed that the Ajith Kumar starrer is getting a grand theatrical release during the Pongal season of 2024.

Vidaamuyarchi teaser is out

The 1.48-minute-long Vidaamuyarchi teaser opens with the visuals of Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, and their shady gang, as they seem to enjoy their daily activities. Later, the viewers are introduced to the protagonist, played by an extremely stylish silver-haired Ajith Kumar. The leading man, who reminiscences his good times with his wife, played by Trisha Krishnan, seems to be in search of something amidst dealing with a great share of pain. The Vidaamuyarchi teaser confirms that Magizh Thirumeni’s film is an adaptation of the American film, Breakdown.

It is so refreshing to see Ajith Kumar in a role that seems to be performance-oriented, after a very long break. The leading man has taken a break from the larger-than-life action thriller for Vidaamuyarchi, which seems more like a well-made sleek action flick that might introduce a new visual language in Tamil cinema. Anirudh Ravichander’s background score in the teaser is highly impressive, while Om Prakash ISC’s visuals bring out the beauty of a landscape that is quite unfamiliar to the industry.

Vidaamuyarchi joins Pongal 2025 race

The Vidaamuyarchi teaser also confirmed that the long-delayed Ajith Kumar starrer is finally gearing up to have its grand theatrical release, during the Pongal season of 2025. In that case, it is safe to assume that the Magizh Thirumeni directorial will hit the theatres as the popular star’s first release of next year. The production banner, Lyca Productions, is reportedly planning to  announce the film’s release date, along with the Vidaamuyarchi trailer, in December 2024.
