Ajith Kumar is joining hands with filmmaker Magizh Thirumeni for the first time in his career, for his upcoming project Vidaamuyarchi. The out-and-out action thriller has been garnering the attention of cinephiles with its promising poster series. Earlier, it was reported that the Ajith Kumar starrer is set to hit the theatres by the last week of October 2024, as a Deepavali special release. However, the recent updates suggest that the release of Vidaamuyarchi has been pushed.
According to the latest reports, the makers of Vidaamuyarchi, Lyca Productions, are planning to release the long-awaited Magizhu Thirumeni directorial in November 2024. The grapevine suggests that the production banner is keen to maintain at least a month’s gap between the releases of their two ambitious ventures – the Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan, and the upcoming Ajith Kumar starrer. If things fall in place, Vidaamuyarchi might hit the theatres on November 14 or 15, 2024.

Meanwhile, the reports also suggest that Lyca Productions is keen to have a solo release for the Ajith Kumar starrer. The release of Kanguva, the upcoming Suriya starrer has been pushed from October 10, 2023, due to the release of Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. The Siva directorial is reportedly gearing up to be released on October 31, 2024, instead. This has reportedly caused a delay in the release of Vidaamuyarchi, which was originally expected to hit the theatres on the same day. However, we will have to wait for the official announcement, to know more details.
If the reports are to be believed, Ajith Kumar is appearing as the central character Arjun, in the Magizh Thirumeni directorial. Trisha Krishnan, the popular actress plays the female lead opposite Ajith in the film. Arjun Sarja appears as the lead antagonist in the film, which stars Arav, Regina Cassandra, Nikhil Nair, Ganesh Saravanan, Dasarathi, and others in the pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music score. Om Prakash is the director of photography. NB Srikanth handles the editing.
