Vicky Kaushal is all set to play the role of Chiranjeevi Parashurama in the upcoming Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik.

Vicky Kaushal who was last seen in Bad Newz, is gearing up for a handful of projects. From Chhaava to Love & War, the actor's schedule is busy. Now, a new film, titled, Mahavatar has been announced today, November 13. The first look of Vicky as Chiranjeevi Parashurama was out along with the release date details.
On November 13, Amar Kaushik took to his Instagram account and shared a poster of his upcoming film, Mahavatar. In the poster, Kaushal looks intensely unrecognizable as Chiranjeevi Parashurama.
The filmmaker shared the poster and wrote, "Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma! Vicky Kaushal stars as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in #Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. Coming to cinemas - Christmas 2026!"

Reacting to the announcement, one fan wrote, "Killer." Another commented, "Vicky next big thing" Several fans dropped fire emojis as they are excited for the film.
As per Pinkvilla, the pre-production work for Mahavatar will begin early next year as the subject of this zone requires a certain scale.
“It’s undoubtedly the most ambitious film for both Maddock and Vicky Kaushal. The film requires 6 to 8 months plus of prep before going on floors, and that begins in 2025,” the source added.
The source concluded, “Dinesh Vijan is supremely confident on Chhaava, and is bowled over by Vicky’s performance in the film. The next project just reflects the faith they have on Chhaava.”
Dinesh Vijan-produced Maddock Films' Mahavatar is the third collaboration between the producer and Vicky after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and the upcoming Chhaava.
On the other hand, Vicky will be sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War. ETimes reported that Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal will be seen as military officers, and the epic romance drama is the modern version of Raj Kapoor’s 1964 film, Sangam. The film will be released in March 2026.
Meanwhile, Vicky will also be seen in Chhaava. The film is directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan.
