Actor Vicky Kaushal, whose latest release, director Vijay Krishna Acharya’s The Great Indian Family, is currently in theatres, is known for his impeccable acting talent and impressive career choices. The actor is also a fitness enthusiast and an ardent sports fan who loves to play cricket during the break in his film shoots. The actor recently spoke about his favourite Indian athlete, Neeraj Chopra, who he called "the great Indian hero".
Vicky Kaushal reveals who his hero is
In a recent interview, Vicky was asked who he considers a hero. Vicky said that according to him "the great athlete is Neerja Chopra”. Showering praise on Neeraj, Vicky said that the star athlete has won many medals and represented Indian on a global scale in a beautiful way. “I love to see videos of him training. That’s how a hero should be and that’s what our youth should follow,” Vicky told Bollywood Bubble.
Neeraj Chopra won the Olympic gold medal for javelin throw in Tokyo in 2020. He also made history when he recently won a gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
Vicky: Katrina Kaif is the great Indian heroine
In the same interview, the actor named his wife, actress Katrina Kaif, as "the great Indian heroine." Vicky and Katrina tied the knot in December 2021 in a lavish ceremony in Rajasthan, in the presence of close friends and family.
Upcoming projects
On the work front, Vicky was last seen in The Great Indian Family alongside Manushi Chhillar. The actor will be seen next in Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur, in which he plays Former Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army, Sam Manekshaw.
Katrina is set to return to the silver screen in Maneesh Sharma’s Tiger 3, in which she stars alongside Salman Khan.
