December is going to be the month of big box-office clashes. As mentioned earlier, as many as 6 films will be taking on each other at the ticket window. Two such Bollywood movies are Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal. Both films are scheduled for theatrical release on December 1, 2023.
At the teaser launch of Sam Bahadur, Vicky Kaushal opened up about the box office clash of his movie with Animal.

Vicky broke the silence on his film Sam Bahadur hitting the silver screen on the same day as Ranbir Kapoor's Animal.
"I think that Friday, we are eventually going to hand over our films to the audience. As Ronnie pointed out, in today’s time, we, as an industry, should give the option of multiple films on the same day to the audience. That’s how we will flourish as an industry. We have those many weeks in a year, but as an industry, we cannot limit ourselves to making those many films in a year. We will have to make multiple films and we will have multiple releases on the same day," said Vicky.
Producer Ronnie Screwvala on the clash
Ronnie Screwvala, who is the producer of Sam Bahadur, also shared his thoughts on the same. The producer said 'clash is a thing of the past'. Ronnie added that clash is an old-world thinking in the cinema world.

Sam Bahadur has been helmed by Meghna Gulzar. The film revolves around the life of Sam Manekshaw, who served as the Chief of the Army Staff during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. Apart from Vicky, this film features Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles.
