The much-awaited trailer of Vettaiyan, the upcoming Tamil film starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, was released by the makers on social media on Wednesday. The film is written and directed by TJ Gnanavel and is scheduled to release on October 10.
Vettaiyan is an upcoming film starring Rajinikanth in the lead role. Touted to be a cop action drama, the film is produced by Lyca Productions and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Kishore, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, GM Sundar, Abirami, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Ramesh Thilak, Rakshan, and others in important roles.
The trailer of Vettaiyan begins with the police department identifying a crime incident, and following this, a strong case is made for the perpetrator to be executed using an encounter. Rajinikanth is showcased as the person brought to encounter the person, as the trailer introduces various characters. What follows is a series of montages from the film, as we are hooked to know who is the person behind the wrongdoing and how each of the characters are connected. The criminal also seems to be shown as powerful and committing crimes against women.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film has been censored U/A and has a runtime of two hours and 43 minutes. The film is shot by cinematographer SR Kathir ISC and B Kiruthika has penned the screenplay. Other parts of the technical crew include K Kadhir as production designer, Anbariv handling the stunts, editor Philomin Raj, and art director Sakthee Venkatraj M. The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Prime Video.
Vettaiyan is backed by Lyca Productions. The expectations from Vettaiyan are sky-high considering Gnanavel’s sensibilities and Rajinikanth’s starry elements.
