Rajinikanth has teamed up with director TJ Gnanavel for his 170th outing in Tamil cinema. The project, which has been titled Vettaiyan, features the superstar in the role of a cop. Fahadh Faasil is appearing in a pivotal role in the highly anticipated film, which is now nearing its completion. As per the recent updates, the National Award-winning actor started dubbing for his portions in the Rajinikanth-starrer recently. The Vettaiyan team is reportedly planning to drop a major update on the film soon.
According to the latest updates, the Aavesham actor recently kickstarted the dubbing for his portions in Vettaiyan at a famous recording studio in Chennai. Lyca Productions, the banner that bankrolls the Rajinikanth-starrer confirmed the update with an official social media post recently. “Dubbing for Vettaiyan starts... Peek into FaFa’s dubbing session,” reads the X (formerly Twitter) post of the production house. The makers also shared a few pictures of the actor and the technical crew, which were clicked at the studio, along with the post.
If the recent updates are to be believed, the makers of the Rajinikanth-starrer are reportedly planning to drop the highly anticipated Vettaiyan teaser, in a couple of weeks. The much-awaited release date of the TJ Gnanavel directorial is also expected to be revealed, along with the teaser of the film. As reported earlier, the makers are keen to release Vettaiyan ahead of the Deepavali season of the year. In that case, the mass action film might hit the theaters in October 2024.
Rajinikanth is playing the titular character Vettaiyan in the film, which stars legendary superstar Amitabh Bachchan in a special appearance. The highly anticipated project features a stellar star cast including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and others in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander composed the songs and original score for the movie.
