Actor Fahadh Faasil, who mostly appears in Malayalam films, is currently awaiting the release of his film Aavesham on April 11. On the sidelines of promoting the film, the actor made some revelations about his role in the upcoming Tamil film Vettaiyan, which stars Rajinikanth in the lead role.
It is a known fact that Vettaiyan has managed the biggest casting coup of the year by roping in well-known stars from across industries. Besides Rajinikanth, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh and others. While the makers have remained tight-lipped about the film, we have come to know that it is an action drama in which Rajinikanth plays a cop.
At a recent press event, Fahadh Faasil revealed that his character in Vettaiyan is a humorous one. Now, this is a departure of sorts from the actor's previous roles, which are known to be serious and intense. Vettaiyan is directed by TJ Gnanavel and backed by Lyca Productions.
Vettaiyan is set to hit the big screens in October this year, during the Navaratri holidays. The makers are expected to announce the date closer to the release. Vettaiyan will mark the on-screen reunion of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan after over 30 years. The last time the stars had shared screen space was in Hum (1991). The film will has score by composer Anirudh Ravichander and SR Kathir cranks the camera. Philomin Raj is the editor with AnbAriv duo in charge of stunts.
Fahadh Faasil, who is expecting the release of Aavesham in Malayalam, will soon appear in the upcoming Telugu film Pushpa: The Rule as the antagonist. Headlined by Allu Arjun, the film will release in theatres on August 15. Fahadh also has Maareesan in Tamil with Vadivelu and two other projects, Oxygen and Don’t Trouble The Trouble with Baahubali makers.
