Vettaiyan 2024: Release date, trailer, cast, crew, plot, censor, runtime, OTT rights and more

Vettaiyan is an upcoming Tamil film starring Rajinikanth in the lead role. The cop action drama is one of the much-anticipated Tamil films this year, and we will get to see Rajinikanth onscreen after almost a year after the release of Jailer. Here is everything you need to know about the film.

Release date

Vettaiayan is set to hit big screens on October 10. The film will enjoy a solo release, from Tamil and other languages. While earlier Kanguva too, starring Suriya, was scheduled for October 10, the makers later bowed down to the release of Vettaiyan and shifted dates.

Trailer

The makers recently released the prevue of the film. The power packed glimpse shows Rajinikanth as one of the renowned encounter specialists among the police officers. The prevue also introduces various characters, and we are also shown how Amitabh Bachchan's character is against encounter. We also see why Rajinikanth's character is for the procedure.

Cast

Vettaiyan has a star-studded star ensemble. Besides Rajinikanth who is headlining the film. it also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Kishore, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, GM Sundar, Abirami, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Ramesh Thilak, Rakshan, and others in important roles.

Crew

Vettaiyan is written and directed by T.J. Gnanavel, with music scored by Anirudh Ravichander. Lyca Productions is backing the film, which has camera cranked by SR Kathir I.S.C. B Kiruthika has penned the screenplay. Others part of the technical crew includes K Kadhir as production designer, Anbariv handling the stunts, editor Philomin Raj, and art director Sakthee Venkatraj M.

Plot

Vettaiyan is expected to be a cop drama, with plenty of action sequences. From the prevue, the film seems to deal with the ethics of encounter. While Rajinikanth’s character is for it, Amitabh Bachchan stands against. TJ Gnanavel is expected to give commercial potboiler film.

Censor and Runtime

The censor and runtime of Vettaiyan have not yet been revealed by the makers. It is expected the details will be revealed towards the near of release.

OTT rights

Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. The film is expected to premiere on the platform once it completes the theatrical run.
