Venom Trilogy On OTT

Starring Hardy, Venom is clearly the most successful franchise under Sony’s umbrella, as the studio continues to struggle with the rest of the Marvel comics-inspired content. The anticipation for the movie is much higher because this is his last hurrah. If that is not exciting enough for you, this is also the movie where he travels back in time to kill the 10-year-old Peter Parker to change his fate of dying at his hands in the future, as per the alleged leaked plot of the movie. So now a prep is needed, and you need to watch the first two films to understand the euphoria. Below is all you need to know about the same.

The Venom trilogy, with Tom Hardy at the centre, has been one of the most celebrated ones for the content it brought to fans of the character, the actor, and comic book nerds. The complex anti-hero has been explored in two films before Venom: The Last Dance, aka Venom 3. The first two films are titled Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Both films have good reviews backing them, making them worth the time.

Venom

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom was released in 2018 and stars Tom Hardy in the leading role alongside Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and an ensemble cast. The film is about a failed journalist who, by chance, gets attached to an alien entity. It is a Symbiote that takes over Eddie, the reporter, and almost rules him. But the Symbiote starts liking Earth and decides to protect it. The movie was well received and is now streaming on Sony LIV in India, and you can watch it with your OTTplay Premium subscription.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Let There Be Carnage (2022) delves into serious matters head-on. Directed by Andy Serkis, Venom 2 is about Eddie trying to bounce back to being a journalist, and for that, he decides to interview serial killer Cletus Kasady. But the Symbiote Carnage makes him his host, and Kasady breaks out of prison and escapes. The film is then about Eddie’s struggle to set things in order again. The film is streaming on Netflix in India.

About Venom: The Last Dance

Venom 3 marks Kelly Marcel's debut as a director. She was involved in the writing of the first two films. The movie will feature Tom Hardy alongside Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Stephen Graham, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and an ensemble cast. The movie is set to hit the big screens across the world on October 25, 2024.
