Venkatesh, after a long gap, is having a Sankranti release in his career - the action entertainer Saindhav, which will be out in theatres globally on January 13. Shraddha Srinath, Andrea Jeremiah, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Ruhani Sharma and Arya play key roles in the Sailesh Kolanu directorial. He’ll be seen in a full-fledged action avatar in the thriller, which has hogged the limelight for the right reasons.
Taking a break from the film, the actor graced the pre-release event of Jigarthanda Double X, distributed by his home banner Suresh Productions and Asian Cinemas in Telugu states. “The trailer is very good. The film looks outstanding and has all the makings of a blockbuster. It stars two talented actors Lawrence and SJ Suryah - I’ve known them for long,” he shared.
He remembered Lawrence choreographing his favourite song Pelli Kala.. in the 90s, where his fans went crazy in the theatres. “I thank him for giving the best number in my career. From a choreographer, he has become a top actor now.” Venkatesh said SJ Suryah has great energy and that he has known him since the time he directed Pawan Kalyan’s Kushi.
“SJ Suryah has a unique way of extracting great performances from actors. We were supposed to work on a film earlier. He has a wonderful sense of humour and I’m happy to see how far he has come as an actor. When you work with him, you’ll learn a lot about acting. I missed doing a film with him, I hope we work soon,” he mentioned.
The veteran called Karthik Subbaraj a cult director. “I am a big fan of Jigarthanda and now he’s back with a sequel. Couple of his films after Petta went directly to OTT. I think he’ll also come up with a script for me very soon.” No one has given a better background score for a hero-introduction than Santosh Narayanan in Kabali, he stated. “I hope he does a good job with Saindhav. He made me sing in Guru earlier.”
