Hiphop Tamizha Adhi's much-hyped film Veeran which was released last Friday opened to encouraging response from critics and movie buffs. The film helmed by ARK Saravan has Athira Raj, Sassi, Vinay Rai, Munishkanth and Kaali Venkat among others playing important roles in it.

Bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films, the project has Adhi himself composing music. The superhero flick revolves around a youngster who develops unique powers after he is struck by lightning. How he tries to save his villagers from a ruthless businessman forms the rest of the story.
The highlight of the film is a few intriguing moments that are centered around Adhi's superhero powers and interestingly written characters. The weak villain characterization and predictability, however, stick out like a sore thumb. The comedy scenes work in parts and keep the audience engaged to a decent extent.
Veeran is the third collaboration between Adhi and Sathya Jyothi Films after Sivakumarin Sabadham and Anbarivu. The former was released in theatres while the latter had a direct-to-OTT release. One of the reasons behind film lovers pinning hopes on Veeran was its director Saravan who earned praise for his previous project Maragadha Naanayam.
Amazon Prime has bagged the movie's post theatrical digital rights a while ago. The film is likely to drop on the platform towards the end of this month. An announcement on its OTT premiere date is expected to happen after three weeks' time.
