While both the films and the cast and crew had heavily invested in promotions and did a multi-city tour, Vikram’s film Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 faced a last-minute trouble, with the FDFS cancelled. The Vikram-starrer was burdened with financial and legal troubles, with an interim stay order placed on the release. Now, with Tamil Nadu not having any other major releases in the regional language, it is likely that Empuraan will take advantage of a head start and dominate the FDFS in Tamil Nadu.

Will Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 FDFS cancellations give edge to Mohanlal’s Empuraan?

Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 is headlined by Vikram and is directed by SU Arun Kumar. The film was slated for release on Thursday, along with Mohanlal’s much-anticipated second instalment in the Lucifer series, Empuraan. On Thursday, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, which was expected to start its FDFS at 9 am, got embroiled in trouble after the shows were cancelled. A court hearing is scheduled to take place after the film faced financial troubles. As a result, the 9 am shows and US premieres have been cancelled.

This gives an edge for Mohanlal’s Empuraan which is also releasing on the same day. While the film is already enjoying massive expectations, Veera Dheera Sooran’s show cancellations will prove as a benefit for Mohanlal and the team. It is to be noted that there are no other massive regional releases in Tamil Nadu, and it is likely that the audience would want to go to Empuraan when their Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 shows are cancelled.
