Vedhika is quite the outspoken animal lover, who is often vocal about the need for more stringent punishment in cases of cruelty towards animals, as well as stronger laws to deal with perpetrators. Not long ago, the actress was seen campaigning for the cause of two dogs that were shot dead in London. Visibly shaken by the visuals of the dogs killed at the hands of the police, Vedhika had joined international campaigns seeking justice for the slain canines.

At the time, the actress got a lot of support from fans, but was also trolled for not speaking up about more pertinent issues.

This is what she had to say about it at the time...

Today, the actress was on social media yet again about an animal rights issue. This time around, it was about something closer home. “Sadly, in India today, individuals who commit heinous crimes against animals, such as acid attacks, burning them alive, or beating them to death, escape justice with a mere Rs. 50 penalty. This injustice CANNOT continue! We are on a mission to rewrite their fate, but we can't do it alone. We need YOU! Your support is crucial! It takes just 30 seconds to click on the link in our bio and join us in urging Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji @narendramodi and Minister of AHD Shri Parshottam Rupala ji @PRupala to table the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Amendment) Bill during this monsoon session of Parliament. This is our chance to create stronger animal protection laws and save countless innocent lives. Please remember that every email, letter, share, tweet, repost, and voice MATTERS. Together, we can make a difference and save countless animals from unimaginable cruelty, inhumane practices, and exploitation. Let’s make #NoMore50 a reality!” she posted along with a video message on the same.

Since her post came on a day that the nation was shook by disturbing visuals of violence against women in Manipur, Vedhika was schooled yet again about using her status as a celebrity to speak up for humans too.
