It was last month when Ajay Devgn took over our screens as a doting father who would go to any length to ensure his family was safe and there was no danger around them. It was for the film Shaitaan, which shook the audience to the core in the first half and had a decent story with many flaws in the second. The movie, adapted from a Gujarati film, went on to do decent business and turned out to be a discussed project. Are you confused about why we are talking about Shaitaan now? Well, to kill the suspense, the movie that inspired Shaitaan was titled Vash and it was released in 2023. Fans have been waiting to watch it online, but reports had it that the makers of Shaitaan had cracked a deal with the makers of Vash not to release it on streaming to allow their Hindi version to have a life.
Turns out the wait is now finally over and Vash is all set to make its entry into the world of streaming after having a very good reception in the Gujarati film circle. Vash, one of the most discussed Gujarati movies of the year, is now all set to make its digital premiere on ShemarooMe this week and below is all you need to know about this exciting update of the day.
Vash Streaming On?
It is no secret that Vash has had a streaming partner since its release. The film was always supposed to stream on ShemarooMe, and it was a known fact. It was the deal that was cracked between the makers of Vash and Shaitaan that restricted it from dropping on the platform earlier. However, now it is all set to stream on ShemarooMe and will have a new life as a completely new set of audiences will discover it. The film is all set to start streaming on the platform on April 26, 2024.

Announcing the same on their X (formerly called Twitter) handle, the streaming platform wrote, “The story that inspired a Bollywood blockbuster is coming to haunt you. Experience the original thriller! 'Vash' premieres on April 26th only on ShemarooMe.”
Vash Plot
A family of four, parents and their two children (a daughter and a son) live happily together. One day decide to take a trip and at a halt to grab some food, they find a stranger who seems like a gentleman. But soon after they part ways with him, their daughter begins behaving weirdly. Later, they find him on their doorstep and he becomes an uninvited guest in their house who now has their daughter under his control. We soon realize he wants her for something very evil and tells her parents to donate her to him. How the father saves the day is the story, and the climax is tragic. You aren't prepared.
Vash Cast, Team, and Box Office
The cast of Vash has one known face from the Hindi version. Janki Bodiwala plays the daughter even in the Gujarati version and is equally impressive like in Hindi. The rest of the cast includes Hiten Kumar, Hitu Kanodia, Niilam Panchal, and Aaryan Sanghvi. The film is directed by Krishnadev Yagnik, and Manan Rawal and written by Yagnik with Jay Bhatt.
Vash was indeed a box office success for Gujarati cinema. The movie in the first 30 days of its release had earned Rs 2.87 crore net as per Sacnilk, and that was a good number for a Gujarati film of this scale.
