Another sports-centric film is on its way to entertain Telugu audiences. It's Varun Tej's turn to play a boxer in Ghani, a film directed by first-time director Kiran Korrapati. The film also stars Saiee Manjrekar, Upendra, Sunil Shetty and Naveen Chandra in lead roles and is produced by Sidhu Mudda and Allu Bobby under Renaissance Pictures and Allu Bobby Company. The makers unveiled the first glimpse, titled First Punch of Ghani, throwing light on the ambience of the film and introducing the title character played by Varun Tej. The makers have also confirmed that Ghani will hit theatres on December 3.

'They call him Ghani, Kanivini Yerugani,' the rousing background score takes off in typical S Thaman style where Varun as Ghani is in the boxing ring, in the middle of an intense match, donning a black sleeveless shirt. With all his energy, he delivers a rock-solid punch, ripping apart a glass into pieces at the end of the glimpse. The video is slickly edited and is designed more like a celebration of sorts. George C. Williams' cinematography instantly wins your attention, hinting towards a sports film made on a large canvas.

Ghani is the first sports film in the career of Varun Tej and has been in the making since February 2020. This is the second Telugu film for Saiee Manjrekar, who first began shooting for Adivi Sesh's multilingual Major. Upendra is returning to Telugu cinema after Son of Satyamurthy, which had released nearly six years ago. The film promises to be a visual feast with a terrific lineup in place. Allu Bobby, elder brother to Allu Arjun is one of the film's producers, while Allu Aravind is the presenter.
