Famous actor Varun Dhawan and National Award-winning filmmaker Karan Johar are all set to reunite to take forward the Dulhania franchise. Filmmaker Shashank Khaitan will likely be directing the upcoming movie, while Karan Johar will be producing it. Reports suggest that Varun Dhawan would – once again – play a titular role in the film. However, superstar Alia Bhatt’s presence in it is uncertain.
Varun Dhawan starrer Dulhania 3 to go on floors in 2024
According to a report published by Bollywood Hungama this evening, Varun Dhawan is all set to reunite with director Shashank Khaitan for the third installment of the Dulhania franchise. Notably, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) were the first two films of the franchise.
Alia Bhatt, however, has not confirmed her presence in the film. Keeping in view of this development, the moviemakers have commenced the hunt for a fresh face for the film.
“Varun, Shashank, and Karan Johar have discussed several ideas for Dulhania 3 and have finally locked one. The film is all set to go on floors at the end of 2024 and the makers have begun the hunt for a new actress to play Dulhania to Varun. There is a high chance for Karan and Varun to launch a fresh face with the new Dulhania film," a source told the news portal.

In 2014, the romantic comedy film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was released, marking the work of writer and director Shashank Khaitan and the production efforts of Dharma Productions. The cast included Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, and the late actor Sidharth Shukla.
The theatrical release on July 11, 2014, proved to be a success, with a worldwide gross of ₹119 crore. Following its triumph, a sequel titled Badrinath Ki Dulhania hit the screens in 2017. Released during the Holi weekend on March 10, 2017, in India, the sequel achieved financial success, garnering over ₹200.45 crores worldwide.
