Varun Dhawan, Atlee & Murad Khetani come together for an action film, to go on floors in August

2022 has been a spectacular year for actor Varun Dhawan – credits to his spectacular performances in films namely Jugjugg Jeeyo and Bhediya. With these films turning out to be blockbusters, the 36-year-old has successfully completed 10 years in the industry.

And now, in the latest development, Varun Dhawan is teaming up with popular director Atlee and producer Murad Khetani for an action entertainer.

Sources close to the development told news portal Pinkvilla, “Varun has been in talks with Atlee and Murad Khetani for a feature film for a while now and the actor is all set to commence shooting for the same by Early August. It’s a proper commercial entertainer and at present in the pre-production stage. The team is coming together to create a big-scale action experience for the audience.” The source adds that the team is presently working to get the entire technical crew on board, side by side with the ensemble.

Giving the details of the upcoming film, the source told Pinkvilla, “While the story is high on emotion and drama, action is at the forefront and the team is looking to create stylish and large than life sequences for Varun. The film will be shot over a period of four to five months as the makers are targeting it to be the big Summer 2024 release in cinema halls across the globe.”

This development sweeps in just months before the release of the film Jawan – a film directed by Atlee featuring actors Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi.

Talking about Dhawan, he will next star in director Nitesh Tiwari’s action film Bawaal opposite actor Janhvi Kapoor. He will also star alongside actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, in the Indian spinoff of the American drama series Citadel, created by the Russo Brothers, and directed by Raj & DK.
