The long-awaited update from Vineeth Sreenivasan’s film Varshangalkku Shesham has finally arrived! The teaser for the upcoming film has finally dropped and oh boy! The teaser has everyone screaming with joy! Featuring a vibrant star cast that includes Pranav Mohanlal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Nivin Pauly, Basil Joseph and Neeraj Madhav, the teaser hints at a cinematic masterpiece with Pranav and Dhyan taking the centre stage. However, the star of the show was none other than Nivin Pauly’s dashing yet hilarious entry and tongue-in-cheek line “Caucus, Belt, Groupism, Favouritism and Nepotism”.
Netizens on X (formerly Twitter) have been particularly excited to witness the ‘OG’ Nivin back on screen. While some were impressed by the other cast members’ performance and looks, it was Nivin’s climax scene that made a whistle-worthy entrance.
However, eagle-eyed netizens also noticed that Vineeth had cleverly re-created Mohanlal’s Ayal Kadha Ezhuthukayanu character Sagar Kottapuram’s ‘drinking from two bottles’ scene. That scene from the old film has been recreated by Pranav Mohanlal in Varshangalkku Shesham, which has been showcased in the fun-filled teaser. That scene in particular has left viewers raving in joy.
Check out some of the best reactions from X users:
The first-look poster, which was unveiled earlier, had Dhyan and Pranav standing in a dance pose, and appear to be admirers of Tamil superstar, Dr MGR. Many users also compared the poster with Mohanlal and Sreenivasan characters, Dasan and Vijayan, from the 1987 film Nadodikkattu.
In an earlier interview, Vineeth addressed the speculations around the story of Varshangalkku Shesham. “Varshangalkku Shesham has nothing to do with Mohanlal and Sreenivasan real-life episodes. The plot revolves around an old song from the 1980s and the issues arising due to the remake of that particular song after many years,” the director elaborated.
