Varisu: Trailer of Thalapathy Vijay's next to be out on THIS date

With the release of Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu just a few days away, fans are eagerly awaiting the film's trailer. And now we hear that the trailer will be out on January 2. In the meantime, the audio launch of the film, which was held recently at Nehru Stadium in Chennai, will be aired on Sun TV today (January 1) on the occasion of New Year. The makers of the film also dropped a new poster of Vijay from the film at midnight as a New Year special, in which Vijay looks dapper in a  suit.

Varisu, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, has Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady. This is the first  time that Vijay is collaborating with the duo. The ensemble star cast for the film includes Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Khushbu, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Ganesh Venkatram, Sangeetha Krish to name a few.

Music for the film is by Thaman and Varisu marks his first collaboration with the composer. The songs of the film, including Ranjithame, Thee Thalapathy have already gone on to become chartbusters. Cinematography is by Karthik Phalani and editing is by Praveen KL. The film has been bankrolled by Sri Venkateswara Creations and Varisu marks the first Tamil film produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under the banner. It looks like with the release fast approaching, the makers will continue to promote the film with back-to-back updates in the coming days.

The film will take on Ajith's Thunivu at the box office on the occasion of Pongal. With the trailer of Thunivu being released and going viral, the anxiety among Vijay fans has increased. The last time Ajith and Vijay clashed at the box office was in 2014, when Ajith's Veeram and Vijay's Jilla took on each other. Hence, fans of both the actors are awaiting a massive clash at the BO.​
