The promo of the first single from Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu has just dropped. The single, which goes by the lines, 'Ranjithame Ranjithame Manasa Kalaikum Mandhirame', is sung by Vijay himself and is a peppy dance number. The promo also gives a glimpse of Thalapathy shaking a leg to the high-octane number. The song will be out on November 5. The lyrics for the song are by Vivek.
The makers wrote on their social media handle, "#VarisuFirstSingle is #Ranjithame http://bit.ly/Ranjithame-Teaser #RanjithameFromNov5 #Thalapathy @actorvijay sir & @manasimm @MusicThaman @Lyricist_Vivek @directorvamshi @iamRashmika @AlwaysJani #BhushanKumar #KrishanKumar @TSeries #Varisu #VarisuPongal (sic)." The production house had announced earlier this morning that the first single promo will be out at 6.30pm today and has also released a picture of the Thalapathy dancing. The audio rights of the film has been bagged byT-Series.

The star cast includes Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Khushbu, Sangeetha and Samyuktha. The film also marks the comeback of Sneha and Meena in a Vijay film after a huge hiatus. While Sneha and Vijay had worked together in Vaseegara (2003), Meena had performed a dance number Sarakku Vechirukken in Shahjahan (2001).
Cinematography for the film is by Karthik Phalani and editing is by Praveen KL. Dance choreography is by Jani Master, who had also choreographed the hit numbers Jolly O Gymkhana and Arabic Kuthu in Vijay's Beast. Varisu is a bilingual, which will be released as Varasudu in Telugu. The film has been bankrolled by Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film will clash with Ajith's heist thriller Thunivu, helmed by H Vinoth and bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. Thunivu marks the third collaboration of the trio after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai.
