Singer Vineeth Sreenivasan and composer Shaan Rahman have always teamed up for hits. But for their latest track, it’s neither of the two who steals the spotlight – but Vineeth’s wife Divya, who debuted as a playback singer.

The track, Varavayee Nee, is from Jude Anthany Joseph’s Sara’s, which has Anna Ben and Sunny Wayne in the lead. Jude, in a social media post, had written about how he got Divya and Vineeth for the peppy duet from the movie. “Once Vineeth had shared a small song rendered by Divya. As soon as I heard it, I asked him if they will sing their first track together for my film? Because I was blessed, I got that opportunity too. Divya is a brilliant singer. Let her sing more tracks and let Shaanikka pick his magic wand again. Thank you Guru and thank you Divya,” wrote the filmmaker.

Sara’s, which is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on July 5, has Anna playing an assistant director, who is struggling to make her first film. The film was shot after the lockdown restrictions were lifted last year.

Shaan Rahman, meanwhile, wrote on his social media page that the track was sung by Vineeth and Divya, who was debuting as a playback singer. “Hope this song makes you happy guys. All my favourites in One Track. Combo Meal aanu,” he wrote, about the song written by Joe Paul. Vineeth too shared the track, saying that it was Divya’s first release as a playback singer.

Earlier this month, Vineeth had shared the tracklist of his upcoming movie Hridayam, which also has a track rendered by Vineeth and Divya. The latter’s debut single Uyarnnu Parannu, which was composed by Vineeth, was released last year.
