Vanangaan release date: Arun Vijay’s film to clash with Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi

Vanangaan, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Arun Vijay in the lead role, is all set to hit big screens on January 10, 2025, the makers of the film announced on social media on Wednesday. Arun Vijay-starrer is helmed by filmmaker Bala.

Vanangaan release date out

We had earlier reported that actor Arun Vijay and filmmaker Bala will be collaborating on a film titled Vanangaan. The makers had recently announced that the film will hit theatres for Pongal in January 2025. In the latest update, it has been revealed that the Arun Vijay-starrer is all set to release on January 10, 2025.

A short teaser of sorts was released, which shows Arun Vijay being pulled from a well. He is covered with concrete-like material as he carries two sculptures, that of Periyar and a Ganesha idol. Produced by Suresh Kamatchi, Vanangaan seems to be a gritty action film and will be raw and rustic, just like the hard-hitting films of Bala from his earlier filmography.

Apart from Arun Vijay, the film also stars Roshni Prakash, Samuthirakani, Mysskin, Ridha, Chhaya Devi, Bala Sivaji, Shanmugarajan, Yohan Chacko, Kavitha Gopi, Brindha Sarathy, Mai Pa Narayanan, Aruldas, Munish Sivagurunath and others.

The technical crew includes cinematographer RB Gurudev, with Sathish Suriya as the editor. RK Nagu is the art director of Vanangaan. GV Prakash is scoring the music for Vanangaan.

Vanangaan to clash with Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi

It is to be noted that Vanangaan will be releasing around the same time as Vidaamuyarchi which is also slated for a Pongal release. The actors who shared screen space in Yennai Arindhal, are gearing up for the respective releases. For now, Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly is also slated for the same slot.

Speaking about the clash, Arun Vijay addressed, “He is the pinnacle and there is no competition for him. His fans have admired me for long, and there is no competition as such. We have announced just now, and we hope we get our small opening for the film.”
