Valimai, starring Ajith Kumar in the lead, is one of the biggest movies that are getting ready for a release this year and has dominated the online space for months now. Now, director H Vinoth has said that the actor said he feels proud for having done the movie.
In an interview with Times of India H Vinoth said, “Ajith sir told me, ‘I feel proud to have done this film. I’m going to screen this film to my mom and dad, and my family, as I feel like a proud son after having made this film.’”
He adds that the actor screened the movie for his family and that it is only after this response that the makers decided to release it with such promise in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada.
Valimai will release across the country in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on February 24. It is the star’s first pan-Indian movie.
Talking about the pan-India release, the director said that with OTT platforms growing, even if it is not a theatrical release the movie could be a pan-Indian release considering how OTT platforms dub the movie into multiple languages.
He also called the movie “a proper family entertainer” that also talks about social issues. He said it is a movie that one should watch with family.
Backed by Boney Kapoor, this is the second time the actor-director-producer trio are working together, after Nerkonda Paarvai in 2019, an official Tamil remake of Pink.
Apart from Ajith in the lead playing a police officer, the movie also stars Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya Gummakonda, and Yogi Babu among others.
