Vaishnavi Chaitanya is a picture of grace in her first look from Siddhu Jonnalagadda-Bommarillu Bhaskar’s film

Vaishnavi Chaitanya, who played supporting roles in Tuck Jagadish, Varudu Kavalenu, and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, tasted overnight fame with the success of Baby last year. Directed by Sai Rajesh, the film received polarising responses from audiences but surprised trade pundits when it grossed over Rs 100 crore at the box office. Anand Deverakonda and Viraj Ashwin also played key roles in the drama.

While one expected that she would be flooded with offers after Baby, it has taken her some time to get plum offers. She has three films in her kitty as of now: an untitled film with Anand Deverakonda, a project with Siddhu Jonnalagadda-Bommarillu Bhaskar (SVCC37) and another film alongside Dil Raju’s nephew Ashish. Her first look from SVCC37 was launched today.

Wrapping her head with a chunni and donning a black chudidaar, birthday girl Vaishnavi is a picture of grace in the first look, looking classy and charming at once. The poster suggests Vaishnavi would be playing a Muslim girl in the untitled project. Bommarillu Bhaskar has spent a year and a half on the film’s script and reports suggest it has shaped up quite well.

Veteran producer BVSN Prasad is bankrolling the film under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra, while B Bapineedu is the presenter. Other details around the cast and crew of the much-awaited project will be out shortly. Bommarillu Bhaskar, before SVCC37, returned to form with Most Eligible Bachelor, the family entertainer starring Akhil Akkineni and Pooja Hegde, which was released in 2021.

Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra is also coming up with Bhamakalapam 2, the sequel to Priyamani’s crime comedy, this year. They had scored one of the biggest hits in 2023 with the mystical thriller Virupaksha and also produced Praveen Sattaru’s action thriller Gandeevadhari Arjuna (with Varun Tej) and the surprise Tamil horror hit Asvins with a bunch of newcomers.
