Vaishali Thakkar was a popular television actress who made her debut with the show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in 2015. Her stint as Anjali Bharadwaj in the show Sasural Simar Ka 2 garnered her immense fame and praise. She was found hanging at her Indore home on October 16, 2022.
The news of Vaishali Thakkar’s death has shocked the nation and left her fans devastated. She was at the height of her career and had her whole life ahead of her. Several news outlets say that a note was found at her house and that a case has been opened at the Tejaji Nagar police station.
The late actress is reported to have been very close to television actor Vikas Sethi and his wife, Jhanvi Rana. In an interview with ETimes, the couple opened up about their conversation with Vaishali two days before her death. They revealed that she was ready to tie the knot with a software engineer based out of California in December 2022, and had planned to visit Mumbai for her wedding shopping. Jahnvi recalled phoning her the day before, seeking financial help when Vaishali informed her that she would be arriving in Mumbai post Diwali for her wedding shopping. Jahnvi stated, "She had planned to stay with us. She had said, ‘ Hum ghoomenge aur bachhon (Jhanvi and Vikas’ twins) ko bhi lekar jaayenge." Jahnvi adds that Vaishali had told her about Mitesh around five months prior, leading Jahnvi to chat with him on the phone and decide that he was "quite sorted and sweet."
Vikas also revealed that Vaishali was also planning to host a Diwali party in Mumbai. Recalling this was hard for him as he still hasn't completely processed her loss. To believe that she is no more, he expressed, "She was set to get married in December. The two families were looking forward to finalising the date soon. When I spoke with her on Friday, she said, ‘ Sab mast chal raha hai.’ She told me that she would do the shopping with us and host a party.' Vikas dwells on how she made many elaborate plans for her trip to Mumbai before the wedding, and thus the news of her death has left him in utter shock and disbelief. Initially dismissing it as fake, he only ended up believing it when they called Vaishali's father, who was at the crematorium and who confirmed her death.
Vaishali Thakkar had been engaged to Dr. Abhinandan Singh Hunda and had planned to marry him in June 2021. However, she ended up calling off the wedding on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, stating that she could not get married at a time when people were dying.
