Vaazhai OTT release date: The film, based on Selvaraj's childhood experiences working in a banana plantation, stars Ponvel M, Kalaiyarasan, and Nikhila Vimal

Vaazhai, the recently release Tamil film helmed by filmmaker Mari Selvaraj, is all set to premiere on OTT this week. The film will begin streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from October 11 onwards. Vaazhai released in theatres on August 23 and after its theatrical run, will now be soon on streaming platform.
Director Mari Selvaraj who earlier made films like Pariyerum Perumal, Karnan and Maamannan, made the recently released film Vaazhai. The film released in theatres on August 23 and is now, all set to make its OTT debut very soon. With Disney+ Hotstar bagging the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film, it will be available from October 11. The Tamil film will be available in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali and Marathi.
Vaazhai is based on the life events that took place in Mari Selvaraj’s childhood when he worked in banana plantation. The cast comprises of Ponvel M, Raghul R, Kalaiyarasan, Nikhila Vimal, J Sathish Kumar, Dhivya Duraisamy, Janaki, and others. The film is presented by the banners Disney+ Hotstar, Navvi Studios, and Farmer’s Master Plan Production, with Red Giant Movies releasing it.
Vaazhai opened in theatres on August 23, and received positive response upon its release. The technical crew consists of cinematographer Theni Eswar and editor Suriya Pradhaman. Santhosh Narayanan has scored the music for the film.
The OTTplay review of the film reads, “Vaazhai is a delightful deviation that Mari Selvaraj took after making his previous films. Vaazhai brims with innocence and has a childlike quality of coming in terms with pain.”
Meanwhile, Mari Selvaraj is next working with actor Dhruv Vikram for a kabaddi-based sports drama titled Bison. The film is currently under production and also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Rajisha Vijayan and others. A release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers.
