Ustaad Bhagat Singh, the action entertainer, marks the reunion of actor Pawan Kalyan and director Harish Shankar, the combo that gave us the superhit film Gabbar Singh 11 years ago. Sreeleela plays the female lead in this film produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers. The first schedule of the much-awaited film was wrapped up recently.
The massive first glimpse of Ustaad Bhagat Singh was launched at Sandhya theatre, Hyderabad today amidst huge fanfare, crew, producer SKN and the film’s distributor for the Nizam region. The theatre exuded a festive vibe and the glimpse satisfied the fans who were waiting with bated breath for the launch, ever since an announcement was made earlier this week.
Not only fans, the first glimpse of Ustaad Bhagat Singh has enough in it to please other movie buffs too. It starts with Ghantasala’s recitation of a verse from the the Bhagavadgita that discusses how God changes avatars to uphold dharma in different births. In synch with the symbol of Pawan Kalyan’s political party Jana Sena, the star holds a tea in his hand as he’s introduced as Bhagat Singh, a ferocious cop from the old city area.
He jumps from his police vehicle, wearing a lungi and arrives at a mosque with style and performs various antics to woo his love interest. There are enough fanboy moments driven by his mannerisms and there are several subordinates trying to control him when he’s on a rampage. With the dialogue, ’Ee saari performance baddalaipoddi,’ the glimpse ends with Pawan Kalyan warning a group of men using his gun.
Devi Sri Prasad’s high-voltage background score, Harish Shankar’s ability to portray Pawan Kalyan through the eyes of a fan and Ayananka Bose’s slick visuals complement the glimpse. Touted to be a remake of the Tamil film Theri, Ashutosh Rana, Gauthami, Naga Mahesh, and Temper Vamsi too essay pivotal roles in the action saga.
