The Kannada OTT platform NammaFlix has been building its content library with additions almost every week. The titles are not new and not exclusive to the platform, but will be available at much cheaper rates, considering that NammaFlix offers subscription packs as low as Rs 14 for three days, Rs 29 for a week, Rs 49 for half monthly pack going up to Rs 499 for a year.
This week, Namma Flix is bringing the 2017 crime drama Urvi to audiences. Directed by Pradeep Varma, the film’s cast is led by Sruthi Hariharan, Shraddha Srinath, Shwetha Pandit, with Bhavani Prakash, Dr Jhanvi, Prabhu Mundkur, Madhukar Niyogi and Achyuth Kumar, among others, in supporting roles. The crux of Urvi is human trafficking, from the perspective of the characters played by Sruthi, Shraddha and Shwetha. Urvi will begin streaming on Namma Flix from June 21.

Pradeep Varma’s film is about the flesh trade and how young girls end up trapped in this world. In Urvi, though, the protagonists don’t just make peace with their fate, but find a way out, while also getting revenge from those who wronged them.
When Urvi released, critics were unanimous about the fact that Pradeep had tried to do something different in an industry in which routine commercial entertainers were pretty much the norm. What didn’t work for them was the grim and realistic nature of the story-telling, but with able performers like Sruthi, Shraddha and Shwetha on board, it was saved from becoming undone at the seams.
Some of the recent additions to the NammaFlix library include Triple Riding (Ganesh, Aditi Prabhudeva, Megha Shetty), Munduvareda Adhyaya (Adityaa), Paddehuli (Shreyas K Manju, Nishvika Naidu), Love (), Onty Bunty Love Story (Prajay Jayram, Vrusha Patil), Electronic City (Aryan Harsha, Diya Ashlesha), Melody Drama (Sathya, Supreetha Sathyanarayan), among others.
