To say that Urvashi Rautela made heads turn with her latest look on the red carpet of Cannes 2023 would be an understatement.
The actor wore a green feathered gown designed by Ziad Nakad from his Spring/Summer 2023 Couture Collection, with matching headgear.
To keep all the attention on her attire, the former beauty queen chose minimal accessories and subtle makeup.
While Urvashi may not have made the impact that she hoped to with her outfit of choice, it sparked off a meme fest.
Soon after pictures of Urvashi from Day 7 at the ongoing 76th Cannes Film Festival emerged, netizens began comparing her to a Pokémon, parrot, jatayu, Big Bird (the Muppet character), and more.
Responding to one meme in which Instagram user Diet Sabya compared Urvashi to a green monster, one user wrote that Urvashi is the "Youngest First woman to identify herself as parrot at Cannes." While another posted, "Panchhi banu udti phiru mast gagan mein.."
Comparing Urvashi to a parrot, one netizen commented, "My mom made a similar outfit for me when I was in 6th grade and had dressed up as a parrot for the favourite dress party. #TrueStory."
Saying that the former beauty queen took inspiration from a Pokémon character, another user wrote, "HaatimTai's Parrot plus Jackie Shroff' cap with dragon Pokémon as inspiration."
Netizens also pointed out that Urvashi wore the same outfit that Mexican actress Victoria Bonya wore at the opening ceremony of Cannes 2023. This led to further trolling of the actor.
