Uriyadi Vijayakumar teams up with Seththumaan director Thamizh for his next

Vijayakumar, who shot to fame with the critically acclaimed film, Uriyadi, has signed his next. The actor will be seen in director Thamizh's next, who recently shot to fame with Seththumaan. The pooja of the film was held this morning and pictures of the same are doing the rounds on the internet. Music for the film is by Govind Vasantha. Taking to his social media page, Vijayakumar announced that he was beginning work on his next today. He wrote, "Glad to announce shooting of my next movie begins today. To be directed by Director of Seththumaan, Thamizh. Happy to associate with Aditya's Reel Good Films and Govind Vasantha again.#RGF_PRODUCTION#2 A Govind Vasantha musical. @adi_producer @reel_good_films (sic)."

The film's production house, too, made the announcement on it social media page, "Big announcement! Kicking off @reel_good_films's production #2, reuniting with @Vijay_B_Kumar, directed by #Seththumaan #Thamizh 🎉 #RGF2 @adi_producer @thepreethiasrani #GovindVasantha #mahendiranDOP @_STUNNER_SAM #Ezhumalai @proyuvraaj @editorcspremkumar @stillsanbhu (sic)."

It was only recently that Vijayakumar had announced that he had wrapped up the shoot for the film, directed by Abbas A Rahmath. The plot has been kept under wraps. Lean Britto has handled the cinematography and Kripakaran has handled the editing. The film is expected to hit screens by the end of the year. Vijayakumar came to the spotlight with Uriyadi (2016), which marked his acting and directorial debut. A campus drama, laced with the politics of caste system, was lauded by everyone. A sequel to the film, Uriyadi 2 was released in 2019. Later, Vijayakumar collaborated with Suriya in the much-acclaimed Soorarai Pottru, as a writer. 

Thamizh, on the other hand, is basking in the success and rave reviews of Seththumaan, a film that revolves around the caste politics around food. The plot revoles around the relationship between a grandfather and grandson, and the politics around pig meat and caste system. The film went on to bag many awards at film festivals.
