The popular anthology Unpaused on Amazon Prime Video is back with its second edition. The streaming giant announced the original show today on social media with the poster of the upcoming drama. Unpaused: Naya Safar will offer five Hindi short films, each delving uniquely into the relatable challenges that the pandemic has inflicted on everyone while stressing the need to embrace a positive outlook as everyone welcomes the New Year. 

The anthology features an ensemble cast including Saqib Saleem, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Neena Kulkarni and Priyanshu Painyuli among others. The films are helmed by Shikha Makan, Ruchir Arun, Nupur Asthana, Ayappa KM and Nagraj Manjule. The short films in the anthology include Teen Tigada, which is directed by Ruchir Arun and stars Saqib Saleem, Ashish Verma and Sam Mohan; The Couple directed by Nupur Asthana and starring Shreya Dhanwanthary and Priyanshu Painyuli; Gond Ke Laddu that is directed by Shikha Makan and stars Neena Kulkarni, Darshana Rajendran and Lakshvir Singh Saran; War Room, directed by Ayappa KM and starring Geetanjali Kulkarni, Rasika Agashe, Purnanand Wandhekar and Sharvari Deshpande; and Vaikunth, directed by Nagraj Manjule. The short stars Arjun Karche and Hanumant Bhandari. 

Unpaused: Naya Safar is said to be a heartfelt reminder that there is always light at the end of the dark tunnel. It assures a lot of love and positivity and urges the audience to embrace new beginnings with the start of this New Year.      

Aparna Purohit, Head of India Originals, Amazon Prime Video, issued a statement saying she feels wonderful to start the new year with the original anthology. Calling Unpaused: Naya Safar a heart-warming anthology, she said the stories provide hope, positivity and inspiration in these challenging times. "This series is also a reaffirmation of our commitment to providing a platform to compelling and independent cinematic voices of our country,” she said. 

The series will premiere on the streaming platform on January 21, 2022.
