Even though Marco faced stiff competition from Mohanlal’s Barroz on Christmas Day, the makers of the Unni Mukundan-starrer seemed confident, making their own set of announcements throughout the course of the day.
While the first one heralded the rise of “Superstar Unni Mukundan”, the latest announcement, which was expected, was that the Haneef Adeni directorial had crossed Rs 50 crore in worldwide collections in five-plus days.

The violent action film had started its Day 5 at Rs 41 crore in worldwide collections, with the movie seeing its lowest domestic gross – of just Rs 3.65 Cr. However, with Christmas day being a holiday, the movie was expected to see a rise in the numbers and the makers have officially now confirmed that the movie has grossed Rs 50 Cr so far.
Industry trackers are yet to announce the film’s worldwide collection for Day 5, which is expected to be another Rs 1-2 Cr. Marco’s biggest market, outside Kerala, has been the Middle East even though it has been released in select centres in Europe and Australia.
Within India, the film’s biggest centres, outside Kerala, has been Bengaluru and Chennai, with Mumbai too contributing to a substantial revenue due to the release of its Hindi version. The movie’s Telugu version will hit theatres on January 1, 2025, in the Telugu states. Its Telugu rights were sold for Rs 3 Cr along with a part of the film’s profits from its theatrical run.
December 25 also saw the release of Barroz, and as per early estimates, both films are in a neck-to-neck race at the Kerala box office. As per industry trackers Sacnilk, Marco has made Rs 2.5 Cr from domestic markets on its Day 6 so far, while Barroz is at Rs 2.6 Cr. Final estimates will only be available by the end of Christmas day.
