Unni Mukundan to essay an IVF specialist in Get-Set Baby
‘Get-Set Baby!’ is a sweet dramedy entertainer exploring the life of an IVF specialist, the problems he encounters, and how he solves them, told in a light-hearted manner. The movie has socially relevant content that unfolds in humour and engages you emotionally. On the film, the actor said that he enjoys collaborating in films that are “socially relevant yet entertaining”. The upcoming film is touted to strike a perfect balance between conveying an emotional story and offering commercial entertainment.
Director Vinay Govind is excited to explore this new genre with Unni Mukundan and Nikhila. He hopes to deliver a charming film unveiling a never-explored side of Unni and the sparkling chemistry of the fresh lead pair.
Since the pandemic, Unni has been taking up different roles. The upcoming movie promises to have him experiment with comedy, which hasn’t tried a lot in his career spanning over a decade. Get-Set Baby, which is expected to go on floors later this year, is currently scheduled for an early 2024 release.
Cast and crew behind Get-Set Baby
Sajiv Soman, Suunil Jaiin, Prakshali Jain and Sam George are at the helm of production under the banner of Skanda Cinemas & Kingsmen LLP. YV Rajesh and Anoop Ravindran will pen this dramedy with an emotional string exploring relationships and their dynamics in the modern world. Acclaimed editor-director Mahesh Narayanan will edit the film, and Alex J. Pulickal will handle the cinematography department. Sam CS will be composing the songs for the movie that will start shooting early next year. Meanwhile, Unni is gearing up for his next film with Njan Marykutty and Sunny director Ranjith Shankar. Titled Jai Ganesh, the movie, which also has Mahima Nambiar in the lead, is set to go on floors on November 10. He also has debutant Vishnu Aravind’s Gandharva Jr, a big budget fantasy drama, in the pipeline.
The actor’s debut production Meppadiyan was once again in the news last month, after the film fetched the team a National Award for Best Film of a Debut Director. Unni has also completed work in a few projects with Jayaraj as well as Arun Bose’s Mindiyum Paranjum.
