Unni Mukundan recently took to his social media page to reveal another reason his second production venture Shefeekinte Santosham was special. The movie will have his father Mukundan Nair in a pivotal role and the actor will be seen sharing screen space with him as well.
Sharing snaps from the dubbing session, the actor, who is producing Anoop Pandalam’s fun, family entertainer, said that his father completed dubbing his portions for the film on Wednesday. Unni also said that his dad was supposed to have a cameo in Meppadiyan, which marked the actor’s debut production venture, but he had to chop those portions during the scripting stage.
“Anyways, since I didn’t get the benefits of nepotism, I chose to do the reverse nepotism here,” he said, tongue-in-cheek, adding that he now totally understands how nepotism works. “Family is always special and important,” wrote the actor, also sharing a still from the movie that shows him sharing screen space with his father.
The movie, which went on floors in April, had wrapped up its schedule recently. Apart from Unni in the lead, Shefeekkinte Santosham also has Athmiya Rajan, Divya Pillai, Shehin Siddique, Mithun Ramesh, Boban Samuel and Sminu Sijo in pivotal roles. The movie also has close to 100 theatre artistes as part of the cast.
Shafeekkinte Santosham will also see Unni playing a full-length comedy role, something that he has rarely attempted in his decade-old career. The film will also have a few portions set in the UAE.
Meanwhile, Unni, who was last seen in Jeethu Joseph’s Disney+ Hotstar release 12th Man, has also completed shooting for the Telugu film Yashoda that has Samantha Akkineni and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar as part of the cast. The actor is also part of Jayaraj’s Pramadavanam that is set to release on the OTT platform, Roots Video.
