Unni Mukundan-starrer Marco is literally going places. The A-rated movie, which is being hailed as the most violent film from Malayalam, will be released in Korea! This interesting development has excited the fans of the Unni Mukundan-starrer, that includes filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma.

Unni Mukundan's Marco to release in Korea

After setting the box office on fire in Kerala and several other states, Marco is ready to release in Korea. According to the makers, the Malayalam movie is set to have the biggest opening for an Indian movie in Korea, etching its name in history. Earlier, SS Rajamouli's epic film Baahubali: The Beginning was screened in Korea with fans lining up to get an autograph of the ace filmmaker.

Now, Unni Mukundan’s violent actioner is also setting a new benchmark in the South Indian film industry by securing a release in Korea. The posters that confirmed the Korean release, however, did not specify the Marco release date in Korea but assured that it would be ‘bloody soon’.

The distribution rights of the brutal actioner have been bagged by Noori Pictures, South Korea. Reacting to the exciting update, Bollywood filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma said on X, "I don’t know where all #Marco is going to go".

Uyare, which starred Parvathy Thiruvothu in the lead role, was the first Malayalam movie to release in South Korea in 2019.

Several other Indian films have also been released in other Asian countries and have won appreciation as well. Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja was also recently screened in China. The film, which also features Anurag Kashyap in a key role, won much love and emerged as one of the highest-grossing Indian movies in China.

Marco, which was released in theatres on December 20, 2024, has registered an overall domestic collection of Rs 42.15 crore on its day 13 at the box office.
